One Person Company (OPC)
Built to secure your vision, designed to last.
What is a One Person Company?
A One Person Company (OPC) is a type of business structure introduced under the Companies Act, 2013 in India. As the name suggests, it allows a single individual to own and operate a company with full control, while still enjoying the benefits of a corporate structure.
It is designed for solo entrepreneurs and small business owners who want the advantages of a Private Limited Company but do not have partners or co-founders.
Key Features of a OPC (One Person Company) ?
Single Owner – Only one person can be the shareholder.
Limited Liability – The owner’s liability is limited to their investment; personal assets remain safe.
Separate Legal Entity – The OPC has its own legal identity, separate from the owner.
Nominee Requirement – A nominee must be appointed, who will take over in case of the owner’s death/incapacity.
Conversion – An OPC can be converted into a Private or Public Limited Company once it grows beyond certain limits (turnover ₹2 crore or paid-up capital ₹50 lakh).
Why Choose a One Person Company?
Full Control with Limited Liability – Enjoy complete ownership while protecting personal assets.
Better Credibility – Recognized as a corporate entity, boosting trust with banks and clients.
Separate Legal Entity – The company is distinct from the owner, ensuring stability.
Easy Conversion – Can be easily converted into a Private Limited Company as the business grows.
